Sony Xperia Z Ultra With 6.4 Display And Snapdragon 800 Processor

Sony's unveiled its latest addition to its Xperia Z series in the shape of Xperia Z Ultra, with a huge 6.4 display and Snapdragon 800 processor with water resistance capability. The phone itself doesn’t fit in a phone category neither in a tablet category and its better to give it a phablet category like Galaxy Mega 6.3 launched by Samsung.

Display

Xperia Z Ulta packs Sony’s OptiContrast and X-Reality 6.4-inch display that runs at 1080p resolution that is without any doubt better than Note 2, Lg Optimus G pro and Galaxy Mega 6.3. It packs 344 pixels per inch which seems to me better than any 5 to 6 inches of mobile until now in the market. However, we have to wait for Note 3 in the future to give it a real competition.

Hardware:

Sony without any goof ups this time taken its device to next level by putting a Snapdragon 800 in Xperia Ultra with a 2.2 GHZ clock speed, this is a best clock speed you can have in your mobile until now. Xperia Z Ultra has powerful Adreno 330 GPU to push all the pixels to the screen for gaming and graphics. Hardware is one of the strength in this mobile as it introduces you to Snapdragon 800 in mobile device officially.

Design

Despite the fact its a hefty 6.4 inches of mobile and weighs 212 grams, the Sony Z Ultra has elegant design like Xperia Z, including the tempered glass back, but adds a metal frame along the sides. Another thing i like about Xperia Ultra is its thickness which is 6.5mm (Xperia Z is 7.9mm) and makes it even slimmer than all the new fancy looking slim phones. It's water-resistant too with a IP58 certification, same as the Xperia ZR. Unlike the IP57 of the Xperia Z, this certification allows the Xperia Z Ultra to dive deeper than 1m and stay there for longer.

Software

Xperia Z Ultra comes up with Android 4.2.2 and runs Sony UI.

Internal Memory

There's 16GB of built-in storage, 11GB of which is user-accessible, while a microSD slot will add an additional 64GB if needed.

Connectivity

The Ultra packs 4G LTE (not confirmed yet) connectivity, HD Voice along with NFC, Bluetooth, Wifi, GPS, AGPS, Wifi Tethering and packs all other connectivity options that we have on Xperia Z. There's also Sony's proprietary WALKMAN player with ClearAudio+ and xLOUD enhancements.

Battery

Xperia Z Ultra has equipped with non removable 3000 mAh battery which seems to me better than Xperia Z, but not as good as on Note 2 and Lg Optimus G pro. Battery is a weakest link in this device.

Camera

Sony Xperia Z Ultra has 8MP Exmor-RS sensor at the back which is capble of recording 1080p videos from it and supports HDR for both stills and movies, but with flash light. On the front of Xperia Z Ultra we have 2 Mega pixel camera similar to Xperia Z.

Final Verdict

To give my final verdict we are going to use a SWOT analysis below

Strength

Xperia Z Ultra packs a beautiful 6.3 inches display with a superior design and water resistant capability which obviously becomes its strong strength and this cannot be easily imitable.

Weakness

Camera seems to me one of the weakest factor involve in this device because it has downgraded from Xperia Z 13MP camera to 8MP camera without flash light. This can be arguable from some users, especially flash light at the back of Z Ultra. Another weakness i have found is its battery which is not up to the mark especially if you are talking about 6.4 inches of Full HD Display.

Opportunity

Hardware is one of the biggest opportunity Sony can avail by introducing a Snapdragon 800 processor in its new flagship. Snapdragon 800 processor gives Sony a early mover advantage to capture some of the mobile market share.

Threats

The biggest threat to Sony Xperia Z Ultra is from Samsung Galaxy Note 3, third generation of
Note from Samsung. Note 3 is expected to have same hardware specs that Xperia Z Ultra have, but without water resistant feature and off course design will be different from Sony Flagship. Size can also become one of the threat for Ultra as its huge in dimensions and its not easy to carry it.

Sony Xperia Z is expected to fall on shelves at Q3 of 2013.

How To Install TWRP In Android Device To Flash Roms And Install Kernels

Hello fandroids this is step by step tutorial to show you can we install TWRP in Android devices to flash roms and install kernels. We install kernels and flash roms in our android devices to customize android devices. Please note if you have followed my procedure to Root your S4 I9500, then please dont install TWRP in your phone because you have already got CWRM which is similar to TWRP.

STEP 1:

Install Samsung Kies in to your PC from a below link  to install all the neccessary drivers in to your PC:

http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/JSP

After installing Samsung Kies Open it and connect your phone it will automatically install all the drivers. If you have already installed all the drivers then dont need to open Kies just follow instructions below

Make sure you have downloaded Odin 3 from a below link :

http://www.putlocker.com/file/4E6632BD12CB33C0

Once you have downloaded Odin,  go to TWRP site and find your phone TWRP File.

TWPR SITE LINK: http://www.teamw.in/project/twrp2

Now above picture shows TWRP site and on top right this site  you will see Get TWRP for your device, press it and write your device name. If TWRP is available for your device you will see a list for different variant of your phones download correct TWRP (download tar file Odin flashable ).  You have to make sure that you have downloaded a tar file not a image file and it will  like a below picture in your pc.

After downloading TWRP tar file for your device open Odin and run it  as administrator and it Odin appears like below picture

Now after opening Odin turn off your mobile and when it gets completely off  PRESS (POWER ON AND OFF KEY + HOME BUTTON + VOLUME DOWN KEY AT THE SAME TIME). This will get you in to a downloading mode like a below picture in your phone.

After getting in to a downloading mode you have to press a UP VOLUME KEY ON YOUR PHONE and you will see a window like below picture on your phone

Now you have to connect your phone with your PC and make sure Odin is running in your PC and in Odin you see a blue highlighted field or if you are using old version of Odin it will go yellow like a below picture ( that means all the drivers are installed for your mobile in PC). Now press PDA in Odin and search a TWRP downloaded file like below picture.

Now after pressing Start you will see a downloading bar in your Phone and in your Odin as well, let the process go it self and wait for your phone to get rebooted. After you phone get rebooted turn off your phone and when it gets completely turn off press Power ON &OFF Key + Home Button Key + Volume Up Key (release buttons when you see S4 logo in phone) to get in a TWRP mode and from here you can flash any rom and install Kernels. TWRP will look like a below picture in your phone.

To reboot your phone press Reboot and then System :). You have successfully installed TWRP.

How To Overclock Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505/I9500, Note 2, S3 & Many More

Hello fandroids this is a step by step tutorial to show you guys how can we Overclock and Under clock our Android Devices Cpu using 2 methods. To overclock your Android Cpu using a 1ST Method ( PERSEUS KERNEL METHOD) you have to make sure that you have Rooted your device and installed  CWRM  in your Rooted phone. If you dont know how to root and unroot your device and how to GET CWRM and  just look at the link below which will show you how to install  CWRM on phones.

How to root and unroot your device with CWRM link (Also include rooting and unrooting of S4 I9500):

METHOD 1 (PERSEUS KERNEL)

STEP 1 TO INSTALL PERSEUS KERNEL FROM CWRM:

Download a Perseus file ( Please make sure you have downloaded a correct Perseus Kernel File For your phone. They can be found from an internet so search for them and follow a below procedure. In this tutorial i have given link for S4 I9500 Factory Unlocked, Note 2 I71000 factory unclocked  and S3 I9300 factory unlocked Perseus Kernel Link. Please make sure you're using a correct Perseus kernel for your phone. This is not going to work for I9505 and I suggest you to stay away from this method on I9505. I will show a second method to overclock your I9505.

Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500  Perseus Kernel File:
http://www.putlocker.com/file/CA3EFCFC13F93A49

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N71000  Perseus Kernel File:
http://www.putlocker.com/file/157F8D5FA143490F

Samsung Galaxy S3 GT I9300 Perseus Kernel File:
http://www.putlocker.com/file/64F8D28BAC6AF03B

Now after downloading Perseus you will see a Perseus Kernel winrar file in your Pc like a below picture

Now you have to connect your phone with your pc and you have to transfer Perseus Kernel file to your phone or else download it directly to your phone and save it under sd card or internal memory ( Make a new Folder Perseus or name it any thing it doesnt matter. However in this tutorial i have named it Perseus Under external sd card like below picture.

STEP 2:

In second step you have to get in to a CWRM (make sure you have not unzipped Perseus Kernel File). To get in CWRM  you have to turn off your phone and when it gets completely off, then  press Power On & Off  Key + Volume Up Key + Home Button at the same time (release all buttons when you see S4 Logo in phone). You will be entered in a CWRM like a below picture in your phone.

Now in CWRM  you have to select install zip from sd card, you can go down by pressing volume key and select it using Power On & Off Key. Now after selecting it you will see a window like below picture in your phone.

Now here you have to select choose zip from external sd card  from above picture because I have saved my Perseus file in external sd card, if in case you have saved it in internal memory of your phone select choose zip from sdcard in CWRP. Now here i  have to select Perseus (this is a folder which i have made in my ext sd card to save Perseus Kernel File). Now after getting in to folder where you have saved Perseus Kernel file you will see a window like below picture and you have to install it by pressing Power & Off Key.

After installing Perseus Kernal you have to select reboot system in CWRM . Your phone will be rebooted and you will see STweaks in your phone like a below picture. Open it now (sometimes it crashes so dont get worry about it try to open it again.

Once its open Super Su Ask for permission to access STweaks Grant permission and you will see a window like below picture in your phone so here you can overclock your phone and as well as you can underclock it. Please note dont try to overclock your phone in maximum frequency otherwise your battery drain very quickly and may be your phone get power off automatically, so make sure you have did correct settings.

HOW TO UNINSTALL THIS KERNEL

To uninstall this kernel get into CWRM select wipe. This will not erase your contact, messages and everything, its just going to uninstall all the kernels.

Second Method will be available soon so stay tuned for that

Video Tutorial is coming soon ........

SAMSUNG GALAXY S4 ZOOM WITH 16MP CAMERA

DISPLAY:

Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom comes up with 4.3 inch qHD Super Amoled display and supports 540x960 pixels HD resolution with 256ppi pixel density, this is a same resolution and pixel density we will see on S4 Mini, but with 8mp Camera instead of S4 Zoom brilliant 16 mp Camera

DESIGN:

Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom has similar design that we have on S4 Mini and big S4, but with different measurements. S4 Zoom measures  125.5 x 63.5 x 15.4 mm and weighs 208 grams. These measurements tell us the story that S4 Zoom is taller than S4 Mini as well as it is almost 90 grams heavier than S4 Mini, but its nice to see that its has almost same width that S4 Mini has, despite the fact Zoom is 5.4 mm thicker than S4 mini because of its Big Lens for photography and shooting.

HARDWARE:

S4 Zoom is equipped with 1.5 GHz dual-core Cortex A9 Processor with  400 Mali Gpu  and 1.5 gb of ram which seems to really fast in comparison to its predecessor S3 Mini. However, it’s questionable, why Samsung has lowered down a cpu clock speed of S4 zoom and even its Gpu speed in comparison to S4 Mini and even it is lower in comparison to Galaxy Camera Cpu clock speed.

INTERNAL MEMORY:

S4 Zoom comes with 8 GB of internal storage (5 GB useable), but you have a microSD card slot for expansion up to 64 Gb.

CONNECTIVITY:

S4 Zoom packs the usual options such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and A-GPS, Wifi Hotspot, NFC, Infrared and as well as packed with 4g LTE for fast internet speed from service provider.
CAMERA:

S4 Zoom offers 16 Megapixel stunning camera with 1080p videos recording and offers 1.9 mega pixels camera on the front for video calling unlike Samsung Galaxy Camera where we dont have front camera.

BATTERY:

S4 equipped with 2330 mAh battery which seems to me good in comparison to S4 mini 1900 mAh battery, but not as good as its bigger variant S4 (2600 mAh).

SOFTWARE:

S4 Mini runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean), the Mega comes with some of the software features loaded on the S4 and Note 2.  Lock screen is customisable and the quick settings found on the drop-down notification bar. It also comes with Samsung's Air View, Smart Screen, screen mirroring and S Beam functions.

FINAL VERDICT:

To round up all the things we have discussed above S4 Zoom  is targeted to those people who want to enjoy S4 features in compact size as well as they love to shoot videos from a brilliant camera like s4 Zoom. S4 Zoom is a great replacement to Galaxy Camera and compact in size with new features like front camera and calling options. However, S4 Zoom comes up with some slow specs in comparison to S4 Mini as well as Galaxy Camera. S4 Zoom will be available in the beginning of July and cost about £350 to £400 depending on storage options.

SAMSUNG GALAXY S4 MINI I9190 COMING IN JULY

DISPLAY:

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini offers 4.3 inch qHd Super Amoled display and supports 540x960 pixels HD resolution with 256ppi pixel density. S4 Mini display is tipped up from 4inch to 4.3 when compared to its predecessor S3 mini with better resolution and as well as it has better pixel density.

HARDWARE:

S4 Mini is equipped with 1.7 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 305 Gpu and 1.5 gb of ram which seems to really fast in comparison to its predecessor S3 Mini. However, it’s questionable, how this device is going to perform against S4 and even against Note 2 in daily usage if it has lower clock speed than both of them. This is a same cpu and gpu speed which we will see in Samsung Mega 6.3, but offcourse with 6.3 inch display.

INTERNAL MEMORY:

S4 mini comes with 8 GB of internal storage (5 GB useable), but you have a microSD card slot for expansion up to 64 Gb, situated right on top of the micro SIM compartment, next to the generous.

CONNECTIVITY:

S4 Mini packs the usual options such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and A-GPS, Wifi Hotspot, NFC, Infrared and as well as it has 4g LTE for fast internet speed from service provider.

CAMERA:

S4 Mini offers 8 Megapixel camera with 1080p videos recording and offers 1.9 mega pixels camera on the front for video calling. Camera itself is not as good as we have seen on Htc One, Note 2 and S4, but its take considerable photos from it, but have more pixels from its predecessor S3 Mini Camera.

BATTERY:

S4 equipped wih 1900 mAh battery which seems to me good in comparison to S3 mini 1500 mAh battery, but not as good as its bigger variant S4.

DESIGN:
Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini has similar design that we have on S4, but with smaller measurements. S4 Mini measures 124.6 x 61.3 x 8.9 mm and weighs 107 grams in comparison to S3 Mini measurements of 121.6 x 63 x 9.9 mm. These measurements tell us the story that S4 Mini is taller than predecessor, but its nice to see that despite the fact it has 4.3 inch display its less wider and thinner than S3 Mini.

SOFTWARE:

S4 Mini runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean), the Mega comes with some of the software features loaded on the S4 and Note 2.  Lock screen is customizable and the quick settings found on the drop-down notification bar. It also comes with Samsung's Air View, Smart Screen, screen mirroring and S Beam functions.

FINAL VERDICT:

To round up all the things we have discussed above S4 Mini is targeted to those people who want to enjoy S4 features in compact size as well as they are not willing to pay a huge amount to get big S4. S4 Mini is budget phone and easily controllable from one hand to enjoy day to day task without a hassle. However, S4 Mini comes up with some slow specs in comparison to its bit variant S4, but i think it has considerable amount of Cpu and Gpu to handle any top game in it speciallay when compared to S3 Mini. S4 Mini will be available in the beginning of July and cost about £350 to £400 depending on storage options.

SAMSUNG GALAXY MEGA 6.3 WITH 4G LTE COMING IN JULY

DISPLAY:

Samsung Galaxy Mega offers 6.3 inch LCD panel sports 720x1280 pixels HD resolution with 233ppi pixel density. This is not a a full HD display and i dont know the reason why Samsung has come up with this device, if they are going to release Note 3 soon. However, display of Mega is really excellent in comparison to other 480x800 pixels mobile even though it has not got Full Hd Display. Peak brightness is slightly above average for an LCD panel, at 450 nits in the middle, but has uneven distribution, going to sub-400 nits at the corners, which is typical for such large panels. While brightness seems enough, we'd wish a bit less reflectivity outside under direct sunlight, when viewing the image on the screen is a challenge.

HARDWARE:

Mega 6.3 is equipped with 1.7 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 305 Gpu and 1.5 gb of ram. However,  its questionable, how this device is going to perform against S4 and even against  Note 2 in daily usage if it has lower clock speed than both of them. This is a same cpu speed which we will see in S4 Mini, but offcourse with 4.3 display.

INTERNAL MEMORY:

The Mega 6.3 comes with the non-mega 8 GB/ 16 Gb of internal storage, but you have a microSD card slot for expansion up 64 Gb, situated right on top of the micro SIM compartment, next to the generous.

CONNECTIVITY:

Mega 6.3  it packs the usual options such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and A-GPS, Wifi Hotspot, NFC, Infrared and as well as it has 4g LTE for fast internet speed from service provider.

CAMERA:

Mega offers 8 Megapixel camera with 1080p videos recording and offers 1.9 mega pixels camera on the front for video calling. Camera itself is not as good as we have seen on Htc One, Note 2 and S4, but its take considerable photos from it.

BATTERY:

Mega 6.3 equipped wih 3200 mAh batter which seems to me good, but due to a huge size of this phone it gives me a second thought that it can be bigger than this because it is only 100 mAh more powerful than Note 2 battery.

DESIGN:

The first thing that catches your eyes is the large 6.3-inch full-HD TFT display, but without Amoled Display which is questionable in the eyes of some people. However, some users may actually prefer the TFT screen. I found the screen to be pretty bright and sharp, so I have no issues there, but a phone itself is very hefty and its not easy to handle it with one hand. Mega measures 167.6 x 88 x 8 mm and weighs 199 grams. Measurement illustrates that this hone is heavier than Note 2 as well as it is huge in measurements. However phone is not too much thicker in comparison to Note 2 and Lg Optimus G Pro.

SOFTWARE:

Mega 6.3 runs on  Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean), the Mega comes with some of the software features loaded on the S4 and Note 2.  Lock screen is customizable and the quick settings found on the drop-down notification bar. It also comes with Samsung's Air View, Smart Screen, screen mirroring and S Beam functions. However it lacks some of the features that we have on S4 like scroll detection, auto-pause and gesture controls that let you control the screen with your hands to browse Web sites.

FINAL VERDICT:

To round up all the things we have discussed above Mega 6.3 sits in the middle of Phone and Tablet and its better to give it a name Phablet because its huge for your jeans pocket and give you trouble if you want to control it using one hand. However, according to Samsung this is a budget phone with Huge Display and there is no doubt that if you love big screen mobiles this will be eye catching, but due to slower Hardware specs and 8 mega pixel camera some people prefer to wait for newly anticipated Note 3. Mega 6.3 will be available in the beginning of July and cost about £350 to £450 depending on storage options.
